About Korean Food

Korean food is very, very healthy.  Within the past year, kimch’i was listed as one of the world’s five healthiest foods.  An article on Yahoo! also explained how healthy sesame oil was, a key ingredient in most recipes for Korean cooking.

Here’s the good news for those who have smelt kimch’i and fear Korea because of it: you don’t have to like kimch’i to enjoy Korean food!

True, many Korean dishes are rather spicy.  However, one of the most popular dishes for foreigners to enjoy is bulgogi, a very light and delicous beef dish that’s hard not to like!  So for spice lovers and those with more delicate palates, there is something for everyone.

The ingredients are all very natural and healthy, from sesame oil to soy sauce (which comes in low-sodium varieties for those watching their salt intake) to many fresh veggies and meat.  What’s also wonderful is that it is so easy to be creative in cooking, from adding your own favorite vegetables to controlling the amount of different ingredients used to manipulate the taste.  You’ll even see here that at times, I won’t be able to give an exact measurement for particular ingredients because it is often truly a “taste-and-see” experience!

Anyway, I hope that if you come across this page, you might try at least one recipe to get yourself exposed to the awesomeness that is Korean food.
